Days Like This …
It’s CMA Fest here in town. There are lots of events and opportunities for us to show our fans how much we appreciate them. I had a Fan Club party yesterday and my husband came by to be supportive. We had it at a park here in town where there were picnic tables,a play area with jungle gym and a little river that ran through the woods.
My husband is not comfortable talking to so many strangers, so, he spent most of the time off with Noah doing their own thing. After a while they had this idea to make a fishing pole out of a stick, kite string and a staple. Then they trudged off to the woods and down to the river.

They spent hours down there with an occasional visitor. When other kids stopped by, my husband would give them a turn with the fishing pole. Each kid got a chance to catch a fish. It turned out to be a perfect outing for him after all.
My husband got to spend quality time with our son, teaching him to do something that he loves. Fishing with his Dad is one of my husbands favorite memories. Now his son will have those same memories.

Simple. No fancy fishing pole (though my husband has many of them at home). No big boat. Nothing too complicated. Just quality time together. Memories I hope our son will forever cherish. It’s priceless. Days like this…
