I Want to Stay 3
The funniest thing just happened. There are several conversations I have with Noah everyday that make me smile. This one made me laugh out loud.
Noah turns 4 tomorrow. All day today I would say “today is the last day you will_____ as a three year old”. This morning I said “This is the last time I’ll get you dressed at 3 yrs old. The next time I do it, you’ll be 4.” Then it was “This is the last time you go to school at 3. Next time, you’ll be 4”. This went on all day. Tonight at bedtime I gave him a big hug and said “Well, this is the last night I will say goodnight to you as a three year old. When you wake up, you’ll be 4” He got this look on his face of worry and then he began to cry. He said “Mama, I don’t want to not be 3 anymore. I want to stay 3.” I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. I hugged him and said “unfortunatley honey, you can’t do that. You have to turn 4”.
All I can think of is, “You wish you could stay 3 ? Ha! wait until you turn 30”.
