Redirect your WTF !!!

This blog is not for music business stuff usually.  But, what I have to say is way too long for a “tweet”.  I was greatly saddened to see that Beyonce felt as though she had to prove herself to those who ragged on her for “Lip syncing” the anthem at the inauguration. The comments made were obviously made by people that have no clue about the technical end of the music business.  EX:  Do you critics know what it’s like to get wireless microphones frequency clearance in DC?  Do you know what it’s like to sing in a stadium with a full 3 second delay on your vocal? (like when you hear your voice echo back on a cell phone and it distracts from conversation). Do you now how many channels it takes to mike up a band and how crazy it gets with multiple entertiners on the same show? Do you know of ANY stadium that has a sound system built for anything more complicated then the single input of playback, an announcer or refs mike.  Oh, and the most important question of all, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN BEYONCE SING LIVE ?  she nails it. She carries her own. She puts on a great show and SHE CAN SING…. Thats more than you can say about a lot of “singers” out there.

I get it. People  want to hate her. I suppose I’m guilty of that at times  (but cant help but love her)  ;-).  After all, we had our babies days apart and she lost her baby weight faster than I did.  She’s stunningly beautiful AND talented. She gets to have dinner at the White House. This list goes on. The truth is, you can try to build a case against her, but, it always falls short. She is what she is. God has blessed her many times over. She simply did what a lot of artists are asked to do at a major televised event. If you want to be pissed at someone, look elsewhere. There’s plenty of stuff going on in the world to be mad at. But,ragging  Beyonce ?????   You’re going to have to redirect your WTF !!!! :-)

P.S. my husband (the audio engineer) came up with the Title of this blog entry.
