Thanks Dad
My Dad SKYPEs with Noah once a week. We chat then, but,it’s the meaningless “Hows the weather?” type stuff. Today we finally had a chance to visit on the phone. I literally think the conversation we had was the answer to a prayer I said at 4:50AM this morning.
My Dad was raised (and in turn raised us) “blue collar” which means you WORK and work hard. Your nails get dirty, your back gets sore, when you’ve got nothing left, you keep on going. Laziness was a quality that my father did not accept or tollerate. Focused, driven and no room for BS. The coolest thing about my father is his ability to inspire. He never met a stranger and always lent a helping hand.
My father reminded me of so many things you don’t see when you’re caught in the whirlwind of a day with two small boys, a marrraige, a career, etc. Our conversation was what I needed hear, at the time I needed to hear it. It’s really a blessing to have that kind of relationship with him. It’s also a blessing that he’s there for my husband too. He gives him caring guidance and lets him know that he loves him. He is what you would expect your Dad to be at this point in life. He respects us as adults in our family roles, but, is still there to encourage with his wisdom.
My conversation with him clarified a lot of things I’ve been working through.
Thanks Dad !
